Argyle senior Jeannie Dammen walked and senior Stephanie Cuevas reached on an error. Jodi Fischer then delivered a two-run double to give the Orioles a 2-0 lead. Sophomore Danielle Truethardt and freshman Kayla Ostby came through RBI singles.

"It's a nice win to have under our belt," Argyle coach Heidi Ganshert said.

The Orioles (3-2, 1-0 Six Rivers East) had three players with multi-hit games including senior Jackie Dammen (2-for-3 with a double), Fischer (2-for-4, double) and Truethardt (2-for-4, double).

Albany sophomore Kaylee Johnson and junior Megan Farley were each 2-for-4.

Comets sophomore Katie Krupke pitched a complete game and gave up nine hits. She struck out one and walked two.

South Beloit 6, Juda 0

JUDA - The Panthers couldn't come up with a big hit with runners in scoring position and lost a non-conference game to South Beloit.

Juda stranded nine runners in scoring position and left five at third base.

"We left a small village on base tonight," Juda coach Bill Davis said. "We couldn't come up with a clutch hit."

Sophomore Amber Ramos pitched a complete game for the Panthers, gaving up just two earned runs on five hits while striking out 10 and walking four.

The first three runs South Beloit scored were unearned after a couple of Panthers' errors.

"They came out and played some small ball and we started throwing the ball around," Davis said.

Junior Lauren Dunwiddie went 2-for-3 to lead the Panthers. Ramos went 1-for-2 with a double and Alycia Grenzow was 1-for-3 with a double.
