PATCH GROVE - Argyle senior Cam Treuthardt went 2-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored and three stolen bases to lead the Orioles to an 11-7 win over River Ridge in the first game of a doubleheader on Friday.
River Ridge defeated Argyle 9-3 in the night cap of the twin bill. However, it's the first game that counts in the conference standings. After splitting the doubleheader, Argyle improves to 6-7, 4-4 Six Rivers East.
The Orioles and Timberwolves were locked in a tie game at 2 early on. The Orioles broke the game open with a five-run sixth inning. Argyle sophomore Mitch Flannery had two RBI and two runs scored. Miken Godfrey had three RBI and freshman Gavin Johnson had two RBI for the Orioles.
Treuthardt pitched five innings and gave up four earned runs on seven hits to get the win. He struck out three and walked three. Godfrey pitched two innings in relief and gave up three unearned runs on two hits.
The Orioles had just three hits in the second game. Flannery scored two runs and had two stolen bases. Junior Brent Ritschard also had two steals.
Johnson pitched three innings and gave up four unearned runs on three hits. He struck out two and walked five. Ritschard pitched four innings in relief and gave up three earned runs on six hits.

BLANCHARDVILLE - Pecatonica senior Cory Linder went a combined 5-for-7 with seven RBI in two games to lead the Vikings to a doubleheader sweep over Potosi on Friday.
In the first game of the twin bill, Pecatonica scored five runs in the fourth inning and nine in the fifth. Linder went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. The Vikings pounded out 14 hits. Senior Jake Dearth went 3-for-3 with one RBI. Senior Presly Hauser went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Junior Evan Prust went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and senior A.J. Hendrickson was 2-for-4 with three runs scored.
Senior Dakota Conwell pitched four innings to get the win. He gave up four runs.
"Our hitting again carried us," Pecatonica coach Jim Strommen said.
In the second game of the doubleheader, Linder went 3-for-4 with five RBI to lift the Vikings to the victory. Hendrickson went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Hauser was also 3-for-4.
