ARGYLE - The Argyle High School volleyball team continued its postseason run, sweeping Black Hawk to win a WIAA Division 4 regional championship Saturday for the first time since 1990.

Junior Ashley Bruehlman delivered a match-high 18 kills, 15 digs and six aces to lead the top-seeded Orioles to a 25-20, 25-22, 25-18 win over the third-seeded Warriors.

Argyle (17-7) advances to the sectional semifinal and will play top-seeded Randolph at 7 p.m. Thursday at Williams Bay.

"It was a great moment," Argyle coach Jen Butler said. "I was really proud of them. It's something they wanted since the beginning of the year. To see them accomplish that goal is great."

Argyle senior Kayla Butler-Paulson racked up 27 assists and three aces. Sophomore Jena Saalsaa posted 11 kills, and sophomore Jadyn Saalsaa added 12 digs.

Black Hawk senior Jordyn Delzer had a team-best 11 kills and two aces. Junior Hannah Herbst had 13 assists and two aces. Elizabeth Holland had two blocks to lead the Warriors.

"They (Black Hawk) are a tough team," Butler said. "We just had a number of plays we executed when we need to, and we were able to execute some digs to pull out the win."
