ALBANY - Junior Sydney Bump led the Comets with 21 kills and Courtney Pfeuti added 19 assists as Albany defeated Monticello 25-18, 25-13, 24-26, 25-16, Thursday.
Clare Koopmans had 28 digs for the Comets, who improved to 1-0 in the Six Rivers East and 3-1 overall.
Taylor Klitzke led Monticello with six kills. The Ponies dropped to 0-2 in conference.

JUDA - The Panthers can thank several key plays in their five-game win over the Eagles, 16-25, 25-22, 26-24, 20-25, 15-13, Thursday.
First, there was Megan Trotter's 10 consecutive service points in game two on her way to 16 service points. Later, when the Panthers trailed 11-13 in game five, Aly Pierce had the last four service points to win the game and the match. Heather Boeke capped off her 18th birthday with the match-winning kill.
But, according to Juda coach Pam Green, the biggest play came from sophomore C.J. Dunwiddie, who had a big save in game five while the Panthers were trailing.
"She came from out of nowhere and it was a great momentum builder," said Green.
With the win, the Panthers are 2-0 in the Six Rivers East and 3-3 overall. The Panthers host Albany Sept. 10.
Cambridge 3, New Glarus 2
CAMBRIDGE - New Glarus won the first two games against Cambridge, but couldn't close out the match and the Knights lost a heartbreaker to the Blue Jays in five games, 25-14, 25-17, 17-25, 16-25 and 12-15.
New Glarus junior Lauren Narveson had nine assists, six aces and five kills.
New Glarus sophomore Jenna Romich had a team-high eight blocks and junior Alexa Secord had six digs.
