PLATTEVILLE - The Albany boys track team had seven top-five finishes in its season-opening meet, the Platteville Invitational on Thursday at Williams Fieldhouse.
Albany junior Garrett Hlavachek won the 400 (55.64 seconds) and took second in the triple jump (37 feet). Senior Hunter Georgeson took fourth (59.02) followed by senior Connor Trow in fifth (59.58) in the 400.
Trow added a second-place finish in the 55 hurdles (9.84).
Albany senior Isaac Halverson finished third in the 800 (2:14.33) and took fourth in the 1,600 (5:03.26).
In the girls meet, Albany senior Ciara Kaderly finished second in the 800 (2:39.69) and second in the 1,600 (5:45.47).
Albany freshman Kirstin O'Bel finished third in the 400 (1:09.13), and sophomore Libby Beck took third in the shot put (31-9). Senior Lauren Blumer placed fourth in the pole vault (6-0), and sophomore Sydney Bloedel took fifth in the 800 (2:55.67).
Both meets were unscored.
