Werner Weissenfluh, of Monroe, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025 after 94 remarkable years filled with love, family, and friendship.
Werner was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hazel, with whom he shared many wonderful and devoted years. Their love story began when Werner first saw Hazel on the Monroe town square in 1956. From that moment on, they built a beautiful life together, filled with cherished memories, lasting friendships, and a deep devotion to family.
He is survived by his two sons, Brian (Deb) Weissenfluh of Monroe and David (Kathryn) Weissenfluh of Jackson, TN; grandchildren Dana (Michael) Smith of Janesville, Travis (Alissa) Weissenfluh of DeForrest, Kimberly Weissenfluh of Brooklyn, NY, David (Kyla) Weissenfluh of Manchester, TN, and Anna Weissenfluh of Jackson, TN; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and many cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy in his life. Werner is also survived by his cherished sister, Ruth Fiene of Davis, Illinois, with whom he faithfully shared weekly conversations throughout his life — a bond that meant so much to them both. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Anna; wife, Hazel; brother, John Maurer; sisters: Rosie Mader, Charlotte Deppeler, and JoHana Benkert.
Werner dedicated 47 years of service to The Swiss Colony, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and steady commitment. He retired in 1992 as the VP of Resource Planning and Development where he was deeply respected by colleagues and friends alike for his integrity and dependability.
A longtime resident of Monroe, Werner took great pride in his community and in the life he built there. He cherished time spent with family and friends, whether on the golf course, around a card table, or simply sharing good conversation and laughter in his home. His steady presence, quick wit, thoughtful words of wisdom, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 7th from 2 – 5 pm at Maple Lane Events Center, N3051 State Hwy 81, Monroe. All who knew and loved Werner are invited to attend and share in the many wonderful memories and stories that made his life so special.
Werner’s legacy is one of devotion—to his wife, his family, his work, and his community. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
