Virginia Mary Koezly, 79 years old, Virginia passed away on November 5th, 2025 in Clinton, WI. Virginia was born October 29, 1946 in Wilmette, IL. Monroe was her hometown for 42 years. Virginia graduated from Mundelein College in Chicago and went to work afterward at Arthur Andersen Accountants in downtown Chicago. She enjoyed her daily commuting from Wilmette on the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad trains and it was at work she had the opportunity to watch the ticker tape parade with her co-workers for the Apollo 11 crew after their return from the Moon.
Virginia moved to Monroe to be closer to family and to open the Heidi and Peter Shoppe children’s clothing store on the Square. Later, she enjoyed her customers and co-workers at Dick’s Supermarket courtesy counter. She retired in 2011 to help take care of her sister Anne until she passed in 2022. Each of us has our own fond memories of our Aunt Ginny including staying overnight to enjoy New Year’s Eves of yesteryears at her home in Wilmette with a good fire in the fireplace and watching Guy Lombardo ring in the New Year on television.
Late in life, Virginia was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and her ability to keep recollections of life, family and self, faded into the twilight. The family will keep her memories for her now.
Virginia is survived by nephews and nieces: Kevin (Christine) Dombkowski of Edmond, OK; Mark (Angela) Dombkowski of Manitowoc, WI; Brian (Ashley) Dombkowski of Woodside, CA; Christopher (Crystal) Dombkowski of Cary, IL; Michael (Lindsay) Dombkowski of Monroe, WI;
