It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Thomas A. Skoumal on November 28, 2024, at the age of 79. Thomas was born on March 12, 1945, in Rockford, IL to Elmer and Eleanor (Nee Plumb) Skoumal.
Tom grew up in Rockford and attended East High School. Growing up, he and his life-long best friend Gary Heckman would play baseball, go bowling, and eat many, many Capri pizzas over the years. He later attended Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Tom worked as an engineering support analyst at Woodward Governor, (Woodward, Inc.) in Loves Park for 32 years. He later worked at Ingersoll Milling, briefly.
Tom is survived by his sons, Thomas (Jill), and Jeffrey; his grandchildren Daniel (Marissa), Joshua, Luke, Anna, Kaitlyn and Brooklyn; as well as his nephew David (Jane) Peterson; and niece Beth (Steven) Palm.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Eleanor; his sister, Jean; and brother-in-law, Roger Peterson.
His legacy, exemplified by his love of music, compassion for animals, and passion for automobiles will continue to inspire and guide us. As we grapple with the shocking loss of his physical presence, may we find solace in knowing that his legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 4pm – 6pm on Friday, December 13th at Newcomer Funeral Home, 1329 31st Ave, Monroe, WI 53566. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
