Stephen “Steve” J. Teale, age 74, of Brodhead passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Janesville.  He was born the son of Louis and Lucy (Wierzba) Teale on April 13, 1948 in Monroe.  He graduated from Albany High School, and then attended UW Platteville, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Education. Steve married Marcia Neuenschwander on July 13, 1968 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Albany. 

After working in the automotive industry for his father, he went on to teach autobody repair to high schoolers in the Loves Park, IL area. Steve was a Director of the Technical College Emergency Service Division for the State of Wisconsin, as well as Fire and Police Science programs. He was a lifelong educator, dedicating over 40 years to furthering education for emergency services throughout the state. He taught for the UW-Madison educating clinicians on lifesaving measures. He also played a vital role in the Wisconsin EMS Association, where he served on the Board of Directors. He worked proudly as a paramedic for the Albany EMS, Town of Madison, and Deer Grove Ambulance Services.

Steve was also an avid outdoorsman who was passionate about hunting and fishing. He spent hours in the woods and loved sharing tales of fishing and the wildlife he saw. He was also a talented woodworker, building clocks and furniture for family and friends.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Marcia; children, Heather (Robert Jakubek) Teale, and Marc (Taryn Hall) Teale; grandson, Benjamin Teale; and brother-in-law, Jim Crain. 

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Victoria Crain; and godfather, Edward Wierzba. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Albany Lion’s Club with Reverend Bill McIntyre officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date in Gap Church Cemetery.  

A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the Lion’s Club. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Steve’s name to the Albany EMS. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
