MONROE – Stephen A. Kundert, age 71, of Monroe, Wisconsin passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 at Monroe Clinic Hospital after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born on May 12, 1949, son of Alvin and Elaine Kundert. Steve graduated from Monroe High School in 1968 and worked for United Telephone Company/TDS for 37 years in various departments. Steve had a life-long passion for woodworking and was a Master Woodturner, specializing in bowls, drop spindles and award-winning turkey calls. Steve’s other hobbies included fishing, hunting & golfing. Steve & Carla enjoyed spending many summers fishing at Lake Holcombe, WI with his children and grandchildren.
Steve is survived by his life-long partner, Carla Borsdorf, Warren, IL; his children, Jason (Amy) Kundert, Monroe, WI, Christopher (Jess) Kundert, Cold Spring, MN, and Douglas (Shana Albright) Kundert, Monroe, WI; grandchildren: Michael Jason, Kathryn Elizabeth, Nathan Alvin, Reid James (Monroe, WI), Easton Stephen, Stella Rose, & Brayden Christopher, (Cold Spring, MN); and one brother, John (Eleanor) Kundert (Canada).
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Elaine Kundert and brother, Scott Kundert.
Funeral Visitation will be held from 9AM-11AM on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home.
A Private Family Service will be held at 11AM with Chaplain Shirley Kelter officiating; a Private Graveside Service will also be held.
