Shirley M. Long, age 73, of Woodford, WI passed away peacefully with her sons by her side on Tuesday February 28, 2023 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, WI. She was born on November 22, 1949, to Thomas and Erma (Schultz) Stietz. She married Steve Long, and they had 2 sons; Chris and Matt. Shirley worked most of her life as a caregiver doing homecare and also as a CNA, where she retired from Pleasant View Nursing Home after 25 years. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, flowers, and canning. She most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also had a love for cats and dogs.

She is survived by her sons- Chris Long and Matt Long both of Woodford, WI; Grandchildren- Charli and Camden Long; Several nieces and nephews; Aunt- Nancy Schultz.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brother LeRoy Stietz; sister Judy Pehl.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, IL.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.

Pastor Dennis Perger will officiate the services.

A luncheon will follow at the American Legion in Warren, IL.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
