Shelley J. Sheesley, age 67, of Monroe, died with family by her side on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at SSM Monroe Hospice Home following a short illness. Shelley was born on June 28, 1957 in Monroe, the daughter of John David and Leah (Colden) Meyer. She graduated from Argyle High School in 1975 where she played drums in the pep band. She married Richard Sheesley on May 7, 2002 in Branson, Missouri. She worked for 23 years at Industrial Combustion and 18 years at Knoke & Ingebritsen Law office before retiring in 2020. Shelley enjoyed fishing, trips to the casino, and traveling (especially to Branson, MO and Tunica, MS). She always looked forward to watching her granddaughter, Alyse, play softball.
Shelley is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Rory (Mike) Maurer, all of Monroe; grandchildren, Alyse and Gavin Maurer; step-children, Lisa (Chad) Beeman of Beloit, Nick (Cali) Sheesley of Monroe; step-grandchilden, Hailey, Ally, and Cole Beeman, Addisyn Gille, and Charlee Sheesley. She is further survived by her father, John David Meyer of Argyle; sisters, Jami Meyer of Monroe, Stacy Meyer of Janesville; brother, Jay (Angie) Meyer of Monroe; niece, Kelsey (Andrew) Mocadlo of Mequon, WI; brother-in-law, David Sheesley of CO; and beloved dogs, Barney and Eddie. She was preceded in death by her mother, Leah Meyer; and mother-in-law, Lillian Sheesley.
A celebration of Shelley’s life will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 12:00 P.M. at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, with Father Chahm Gahng officiating. A visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
