Ruth A. Wuethrich, age 95, of Monroe, died Monday, March 27, 2023 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Ruth was born on August 1, 1927 in Sylvester Township, Green County, the daughter of Fred and Emma (Kubly) Bleiler. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1945 and was united in marriage to Paul F. Wuethrich on April 17, 1946 in Phelps County, Missouri. The couple farmed in Clarno Township for many years and Ruth also helped with clerical work in Paul’s business, Green County Mutual Insurance. Ruth was a long time member of Staver St. Peter’s United Methodist Church where she served as Treasurer for several years. She was also a member of the Monroe Moose Lodge and in her younger years enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening, and traveling with Paul in the United States and Europe. Ruth always loved hosting family gatherings especially during the holidays.

She is survived by a son, William Wuethrich of Campbell, CA; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Wuethrich of Monroe; four grandchildren, David (Kim) Wuethrich of Monroe, Julie Wuethrich of Edgerton, Steven Brunhoefer of Ripon, Jason (Jessica) Brunhoefer of Green Bay; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul, on August 6, 2010; daughter, Donna Brunhoefer; son, Jerry Wuethrich; grandson, Aaron Wuethrich; daughter-in-law, Gloria Wuethrich; and her sister, Kathryn Hartwig.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, with Pastor Sarah Mae Gabuyo officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, followed by a luncheon at Staver’s church, W7282 County Highway P, Monroe. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 5th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  A memorial fund will be established in Ruth’s name for Staver’s Church.
