Ruth L. Beckman, R.N. of Albany died Thursday June 3, 2021. She was the daughter of William and Pauline (Ahrens) Beckman. She was born in Dundee, Illinois. Ruth was raised and educated in Elgin, Illinois. She was united in marriage to Donald E. Schultz; together they had two children Ann Marie and Brian Craig Schultz. Ruth was a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, IL and Delnor Hospital in St. Charles, IL; she was also the parish nurse for St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Ruth was an active community person, who volunteered most of her time to help others.

Ruth is survived by her son, Brian (Mardi) Schultz; grandson, Will (Michelle) Schultz and their children, Shelby (Wade) Stanley, Madeline Schultz, and Samantha Schultz; and granddaughter, Kelly Marie (Roger) Smith and their children, Ashley, Jacob, and Allison Smith; brother, William (Sherry) Beckman of MT; sister-in-law, Mary Beckman; and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; daughter, Ann Marie; sisters, Fern (Bill) Schewe and Lois (Bob) Real; and brother, David Beckman.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 2pm on Sunday June 6, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Albany with Father Mick Moon as celebrant. Burial will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Elgin, IL at a later date.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1pm until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or Albany Historical Society. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
