Roy L. Wyss, age 89 of Monroe, died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at his home. Roy was born on February 12, 1929 in Monroe, the son of Walter E. and Kathryn (Grimm) Wyss. He attended Argus Country School and graduated from Monroe High School in 1947. He married Janice Dye on November 18, 1950 at Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe.  Roy had a passion for farming as he farmed in Clarno Township for 30 years. He enjoyed exporting Holstein cattle all over the world for many years and buying cattle for Packerland Packing in Green Bay. He was a long time member of East Clarno Zion United Methodist Church and along with his wife, Janice, owned Monroe Honda for over 30 years and operated the Country Store south of Monroe for ten years. 

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Janice Wyss of Monroe; five children, William (Jean) Wyss, Robert Wyss, Mary (David) Carroll, all of Monroe, Frederick (Robin) Wyss of Middleton, Ginny Klemm of Monroe; 13 grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; a brother, Chet (Alice) Wyss; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Wyss, all of Monroe.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Dianne in 2003; and three brothers, Carl, Delbert and Dan.

Private family funeral services will be held at the East Clarno Zion United Methodist Church. A celebration of Roy’s life for family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. at the Twining Valley Community Room, 700 8th Avenue, Monroe. Interment will be in the East Clarno Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials in Roy’s name are suggested to the East Clarno UMC Youth Program.
