Rose M. Wahler, age 86, of Monroe passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the New Glarus Nursing Home.  She was born the daughter of Fred and Lolita (Boegli) Wenger on October 26, 1937.  She graduated from South Wayne High School in 1955.  Rose was united in marriage to Gordon Wahler on May 19, 1957 at the West Wiota Church; they shared almost 63 years together until his passing in 2020.

Rose worked at Eagle Foods and Swiss Colony in the call center for 20 years; retiring in 2010. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Women of the Moose.  Rose enjoyed her flower garden, camping with her husband, holiday baking and shopping.  She will be remembered for the love she had for her family and all the memorable holidays she hosted. 

Rose is survived by her children, Robert (Tina) Wahler and Lori (Dennis) Timm; grandchildren, Justin (Nik), Ryan (Nikki), Derek, and Dylan; great-grandchildren, Korbin, Weston, JJ, Rowan, and Cole; siblings Fred (Phyllis) Wenger, Kathleen (Roger) Kraus, and Mary (Ray) Parriott; and her loveable companion, her therapy dog, Rusty.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon; two sisters, Darlene Chapman and Evelyn Botteron. 

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor Blake Canterbury officiating.  A private family burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. 

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com
