Ronald “Ron” B. Strub, Sr., age 84, of Monroe, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Monroe Clinic Hospice Home. He was born the son of Burdette and Nelda (Meyer) Strub on October 14, 1936 in Freeport. He was a graduate of Warren High School, following high school he proudly served in the US Army from 1955-1957. Ron was united in marriage to Marlene “Marty” Purdy on September 29, 1984 in Janesville.
Ron worked for Continental Grains-Wayne Feeds in Janesville for many years. He loved to travel and enjoyed many cruises with his wife, Marty; as well as going to the casino and tending to his vegetable garden. Ron also enjoyed going for coffee nearly every morning with friends.
Ron is survived by his wife, Marty of Monroe; children, Rhonda (Ken) Iverson of Dodgeville, Brenda Strub of Monroe, Ronald “BJ” (Tiffany) Strub of Janesville, and Jeremy Strub of Richland Center; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Shirley Paxson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Services will be held at 11AM on Friday, January 22, 2021 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Chaplain Steve Bullock officiating.
Visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
