Ronald J. Stearns, age 88, of Argyle passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, WI.  He was born the son of John and Ella (Salzsieder) Stearns on August 22, 1936 in Oshkosh, WI.  Ron graduated from Oshkosh High School.  He then went on to double major at UW Oshkosh with a Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry and math.  Ron proudly served in the United States Army in the 32nd Infantry Division.  He and Patricia Wegener were married on May 9, 1964, in Oshkosh, WI.

Ron worked as a chemist for Schlitz Brewery in Milwaukee and Pabst Brewery in Peoria Heights, IL.  Ron also owned and operated Ace Pest Control for several years. After retirement he was a school bus driver for District 150 in Peoria.  He enjoyed bowling and bowled in several leagues, most recently at Leisure Lanes in Monroe.  He also enjoyed traveling, reading, woodworking, sitting on his patio, watching football games, especially the Green Bay Packers, and spending time with his family. 

Ron is survived by his wife Patricia of Argyle; daughters, Renee Whittinghill of Argyle, Ellen (Bradley) Mangan of Dunlap, IL, and Lynne (Brett) Lovell of Frankfort, IL; and two grandchildren, Brayden and Brenna Lovell. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Wayne C. Stearns. 

Private Graveside Services will be held at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Oshkosh, WI at a later date.
