Robert “Bob” John Ammon, Sr.

Robert “Bob” John Ammon, Sr., age 80, of Monroe passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025 at his home. He was born the son of Rudy and Alice (Dooley) Ammon on February 26, 1945. He was a graduate of Monroe High School and the UW Short Course for farming. Bob was united in marriage to Katherine Koenig on May 4, 1968 in Monroe. 

Bob was a dairy farmer for many years in rural Monroe. He also worked at Huber Brewery and seasonally for Swiss Colony. He was a member of Moose Lodge, Smock Valley Watershed Association; and when his kids were younger, he helped as a 4-H Leader and land judging. Bob enjoyed bowling, playing cards, especially euchre, horseshoes, and telling jokes. 

Bob is survived by his wife, Katie of Monroe; children, Bradley James Ammon, Robert John Ammon, Jr., both of Monroe, and Dawn Ray Ammon of Eagle Mountain, Utah; grandchildren, Kayla, Hannah, Abigail; siblings, John Ammon of Monroe and Mary (Keith) Olson of Milton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard; and daughter, Mary Rose in infancy. 

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00PM noon on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Chuck Wellington and Calvin Schaver officiating. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00AM until the time of service.
