Robby “Rob” W. Nielsen
Robby “Rob” W. Nielsen

Robby “Rob” W. Nielsen, age 42 of Blanchardville, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday July, 6, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones after a brief but very courageous battle with cancer. Rob was born on March 16, 1977 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Carl and Cindy (Peppers) Nielsen. Shortly after, the family moved to Woodford, WI where he attended Black Hawk Schools. After High School, he worked for Cleary Building Corp. in Verona, WI until an accident in January of 2003 left him paralyzed. Being stripped of his ability to walk did not take away his passion for life and the outdoors. He loved to go hunting and fishing and rarely missed a chance to go. He was also a huge sports fan and absolutely loved his Michigan Wolverines and his Dallas Cowboys. He made an impact on the lives of everyone he met with his carefree spirit and his willingness to help anyone who needed it, even when he had little to give.

He is survived by his parents, Carl and Cindy Nielsen of Argyle; sisters: Denise (Stewart) Swenson of Shullsburg and Janice (Brian) Teasdale of Monroe; his girlfriend, Jen Waterman of Blanchardville; a niece, Cori McNett; nephews, Marcus Gordon and Kayden Teasdale; great nephew, Jasper Flannery; great niece, Jazmyne Flannery; his beloved dog and best friend, Duke; very special friends: Scott Hansen and Samee Metz; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; several aunts and uncles; a very special friend, Jeremy Kainz.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Freeport at a later date. A visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.

Rob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to sincerely thank the Agrace Hospice Team who helped us fulfill Rob’s wishes of spending his final days at home.
