Richard Tourdot, age 87 passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Pleasant View in Monroe.  He was born on October 28, 1937 to Frank and Esther (Root) Tourdot.  After graduating from Belleville High School in 1955 Richard entered into the United States Army serving from 1956 to 1959 where he was stationed in Korea and at Fort Ord in California.  On February 6, 1960 he was united in marriage to Erna Bloedow at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Belleville.  Richard worked at Carnes in Verona for forty-four years until retiring.  In his retirement he would work as a carpenter and woodworker remodeling older homes.  He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Albany.  The most important thing to Richard were times spent with his family.

Richard is survived by his wife Erna, children Mike Tourdot, Mary Jo Brandt, Pam (Katherine) Tourdot, and Paul (Danielle) Tourdot, grandchildren Trisha (Brett), Ashleigh (Jordon), Cody (Paula) and Angelique (Michael), and great-grandchildren Valencia and Ryleigh.  He is further survived by his siblings Donald (JoAnn) Tourdot, Charlene Meier, Pauline Brunner, Margaret Thompson, and Ann (John) Stahl, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Earl (Karen), Robert (Carol), Jerome and David, sisters Carol (John) Surrell and Phyllis (Jack) Dougherty, brothers-in-law Dan Meier, Ron Brunner, and Robert Thompson, and son-in-law Charlie Brandt.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 410 E. State St., Albany, WI.  Fr. Joseph Bellamkonda will officiate.  Inurnment with military honors will be held at a later date at St. Raphael’s Frenchtown Cemetery, rural Belleville.

A gathering will precede the mass from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Albany.

The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is assisting the family.

The family would like to thank all the people who helped Richard to stay at home prior to moving to Pleasant View.  Additional thanks are extended to the staffs of Pleasant View and SSM Health at Home hospice for the kind and compassionate care given to Richard.
