Richard Charles Vadinsky “Uncle Dick”, age 92, of Monroe formerly of Chicago passed away on November 1, 2025 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born the son of Edward and Tillie (Hanus) Vadinsky on October 26, 1933 in Chicago. He was a graduate of Gage Park High School in Chicago. Following high school, he proudly served in the US Army, where he was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

Richard was the Personnel Manager for Wieboldt’s Department Store for many years in Chicago. He was also a very active member of St. Simon The Apostle Catholic Church in Chicago, he later joined St. Victor’s Catholic Church of Christ the King Parish in Monroe. He was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus. After moving to Monroe, he also joined the American Legion Post 84 and VFW Post 2312.  

Richard will be remembered for his caring and loving nature. He was a helpful caregiver to both his mother and brother, throughout his childhood and as an adult.

Richard is survived by his nieces and nephews, Thomas (Shirley) Tullis, Linda (Ed) Dyer, Nancy (Rene) Hendrickson, Karen (Don) Rothenbach, Jim (Vickie) Tullis, Cathy Gray, Tim (Mary) Tullis, Richard (Bessie) Tullis and their families; cousins, Mary Ann (Steve) Arnold, and Donna (Jim) Labrizzie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Vadinsky; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret (Charles Richard) Tullis; and nephew, David Tullis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at St. Victor’s Catholic Church with Father Garrett Kau as celebrant. Burial will take place at a later date in Chicago.

Visitation will be held at church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
