Rhonda Joy Strothman, age 54, of South Wayne passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020 at her home. She was born the daughter of Vernon and Mary (Friedli) Scott on August 8, 1965 in Darlington. She was a graduate of South Wayne High School and also obtained her certificate as a CNA as an in-home caretaker. Rhonda was united in marriage to Eric Strothman on June 28, 2013.

Rhonda worked as a secretary and assistant caring for animals at the Blanchardville Veterinary Clinic, and at Argyle Veterinary Service for over 10 years. One of Rhonda’s greatest passions was caring for animals and she loved having a farm of her own. She took pride in taking care of her home including yardwork. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was known for being a great listener and making the best Special K Bars. She will be remembered for her beautiful eyes and bright smile that could light up any room.

Rhonda is survived by her husband, Eric of South Wayne; son, Ryan (Brooke) Peterson of South Wayne; six grandchildren, Madilyn, Jack, Mallorie, Lilly, Lucas, and Sammantha; siblings, Nancy (Kenneth) Johnson of Wiota, Mark Scott of Platteville, and Pamela (Joseph) Tuescher Scott of South Wayne; mother-in-law, Jessica (Bill) Engelke; brothers-in-law, Adrian Strothman and Branden Strothman; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Albert Strothman; brother-in-law, Jared Strothman; and her dog, Bubba.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Martintown Community Church with Pastor Kevin Cernek officiating. The service can also be heard on the radio if you wish to stay in your vehicle due health and safety concerns. A luncheon will be held at the church following service.

Visitation will be held at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 4-7PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Rhonda’s name.

Rhonda loved her family, friends, and animals and never let any of them go without knowing it. I was so blessed to spend my life with her and will miss her bright smile and loving heart. Rest in peace Honey Bunny, Love, Eric and your beloved dog, Benny
