Ray D. Bowen, age 86 of Monroe, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe. Ray was born on September 4, 1934 in Monroe, the son of Wesley and Lilly (Imobersteg) Bowen. He graduated from Orangeville High School in 1952 and was united in marriage to Luann Reinmann on November 27, 1955 at the East Clarno United Methodist Church. Ray farmed most of his life on the Bowen farmstead in Clarno Township. Following his retirement from farming, Ray worked for ten years at Carrousel Grain Service in Monroe. He was a member of East Clarno Church, Monroe Moose Lodge #754, and a former member of the Orangeville Oddfellow Lodge #372. Ray enjoyed bowling for many years, going to antique tractor shows, and belonging to the Massey Harris Collectors Club.

Ray is survived by his wife of 65 years, Luann Bowen of Monroe; five children, Renee (Rick) Jordan of Argyle, Jeff Bowen of Monroe, Ron Bowen of Monroe, Laurie Bowen of Gratiot, and Gary Bowen (Terri Thompson) of Monroe; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Mike) Connors of Sun Prairie; brother, Harry (Diana) Bowen of Orangeville; mother-in-law, Leona Reinmann; and a special friend, Larry Torine both of Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Albert Reinmann.

Private family funeral services will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Pastor Sarah Mae Gabuyo officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe.
