Phil Wolden

Phil Wolden, age 79, of Monroe went to his heavenly reward Monday, January 19, 2025 after a lengthy illness.  Phil was born on May 6th, 1946 to parents Clara and Sever Wolden at St. Clare Hospital in Monroe.  Phil graduated from Brodhead High School in 1964.  He later served in the U.S. Air Force, Vandenburg AFB.  Phil met the love of his life, Luann Swenson, marrying in 1967.

For those of you lucky enough to have known Phil, it was well known he chose his words wisely, with a big heart and strong faith.  From an early age, Phil had a musical ear, a loyal fan of Elvis, classic country, and writing music now cherished by family.

Phil is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kari Stitt; brothers, Donald and Paul; and sister, Helen (Earl) Fossen.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Luann; daughter, Angela (Mark) Dombkowski of Manitowoc; sister, Mary (Dean) Althaus of Waddell, AZ; brother, Ken (Jean) Wolden of Elgin, IL; grandchildren, Jenah (Irby) Walden of Beloit; Presley Stitt of Janesville, Claire Dombkowski of Milwaukee, Benjamin (Julia) Dombkowski of Sun Prairie; and great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Shelby, and Jaxson (Jenah).

The family thanks the VA Clinics, Fresenius Kidney Care and Agrace Hospice for the compassionate care and assistance.  Per Phil’s wishes no services will be held.  A family graveside services to be held at a later date.

Everson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
