Paul J. Luciani, 88, of Rewey, Wisconsin, died on Saturday, August 17, 2019. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor MaryAnn Floerke will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #42 and VFW Post #5274. Paul was born on October 5, 1930 in Darlington, Wisconsin. He was the son of Romano and Evelyn (Komprood) Luciani. Paul was united in marriage to Lois Harris on April 10, 1954 in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on March 9, 1998. Paul served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he was a medic. Paul worked at John Deere Dubuque Works for 30 years, however, his real love was farming. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. Paul was always fixing and working on things. He served on the Iowa County Board of Supervisors. For many years, Paul and his wife, Lois, were the general leaders of the Rewey Lucky Stars 4-H club.

Paul is survived by his four daughters, Laurie (Richard) Graney, Peggy (Dan) Smith, Susan (Paul) Leigh, and Marsha (Scott) Daubert; 11 grandchildren, Aaron (Carissa) Smith, Brian (Nicole) Smith, Hunter Smith, Zachary (Dana) Leigh, Jennifer (Tyree Edge) Leigh, Meghan (Caleb) Riese, Lindsey (Jeremy) Janke, Mitchell Peterson, Meghan (Brent) Schramer, Courtney (Jason) Jeremiason, and Mitchell (Nora) Daubert; and 14 great-grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; parents; sons, Dennis in infancy and Paul, Jr. on January 13, 2004; grandson, Adam Smith; brothers, Romo and Bernard; twin sister, Pauline McNett; and sister, Genevieve Russell.
