Orphie M. Cawley, age 83, of Monroe passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Monroe Health Services.  She was born on March 24, 1942 the daughter of Lynn and Dorothy Brown. Orphie was united in marriage to Martin Cawley on May 28,1989 in Dundee, IL.

Orphie worked at Swiss Colony for many years. She enjoyed shopping and going out for breakfast.  Above all, she cherished time with her family, especially her regular coffee visits with her daughter. Orphie will be remembered for her vibrant, spunky personality.

Orphie is survived by her children Terry Helfvogt and Gerald Brown; grandchildren, Jessica (Toby) Yaun, William “Billy” Helfvogt, Jr., Robert (Cassie) Helfvogt, Keith (Halie) Helfvogt, Katie Brown, Alivia Brown, and Wyatt Brown; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor Beth Staniforth-Seamster officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethel Hawthorne Cemetery.
