Norman E. Huber, age 88, of Monroe passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at The Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born the son of Edward and Ann (Bauman) Huber on October 20, 1930 in Monroe. He attended Monroe Public Schools. Norman was married to Barbara Davis, she preceded him in death; he was later united in marriage to Opal Eells Krueger in 1979.

Norman was a United States Postal carrier for many years, retiring in 1990. He was a longtime member of St. Victor’s Catholic Church, where he served as a lay minister giving communion for the sick and homebound. He also gave his time as a girl’s softball coach for Doyle’s Irish Pub. In his free time, Norman enjoyed running, collecting postcards, coins and antiques, and was an avid auction goer.

Norman is survived his wife, Opal of Monroe; daughters, Holly (Matthew) Douglas of Brodhead and Gayle (James) Buol of Monroe; step-daughters, Heidi Krueger of Batavia, IL and Sara (Michael) Freund of Kenosha; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Barbara; and sister, Darlene Campbell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Monsignor Larry Bakke as celebrant. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00PM. Condolences may be sent at: shriner111.com
