Norma Mae DeVoe, age 86, of Monroe, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on January 17, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born on March 10, 1935 to parents George and Louise (Roder) Neuenschwander. Norma and Robert DeVoe were married on August 24, 1952 in Monroe. Together, they operated a family farm south of Monroe for over 30 years. After retirement, Norma and Robert enjoyed travelling to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England, Holland, Russia, Kenya, Australia, New Zealand, Fuji, Hawaii, and Las Vegas. After her husband’s passing, Norma traveled to Dominican Republic, Panama, Costa Rica, Ireland, California, Washington D.C. and West Virginia.
Norma was a devoted mother, raising 6 foster children alongside her family of 4 children. Norma loved spending time in her garden and creating delicious meals for her family. Norma was enthusiastic in playing cards at the Behring Senior Center and spending time with all her friends. She loved and was loved by all her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Alan (Yvonne) DeVoe of Monroe, Vicki (Keith) Wiesenberg of Monroe, Valerie (Gary) Zamecnik of Racine, Wisconsin, and Rick (Kathy) DeVoe. She will also be missed by her grandchildren: Katlyn (Travis) Langmeier of Benton, Wisconsin, Samantha (Cole) Reighard of Packwood, Iowa, Dean DeVoe of Monroe; Krystal (Eric) Caron of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Rachel (Brandon) LeBeau of Iowa City, Iowa, Michelle (Isaac Berens) Wiesenberg of Shoreview, Minnesota; Nicole (Neal) Pattinson of Antrim, New Hampshire, Tricia (Tim) Dickey of Caledonia, Wisconsin; and Charlayna DeVoe of Monroe, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her sister, Marie (Neuenschwander) Pagel and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert DeVoe; grandchildren, Timothy and Tanya DeVoe, Jennifer Zamecnik in infancy; and sisters Ida Neuenschwander in infancy, Ruth (Ernie) Wegmueller and Hazel (Leon) Rufer.
A private funeral service is scheduled for January 21, 2022 at Shriner Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home.
