Norah Anne Sanders of Monroe, WI, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother died in a car accident on February 17, 2023. Norah was born in Flint, MI, on March 30, 1951, and attended school at Holy Redeemer from kindergarten to 12th grade. She met her husband, Mike, working at the Fair Store in Flint. They married March 3, 1973, and created a life devoted to family and community-service. They moved many times in the early years, from Flint, to Ann Arbor, MI to Peoria IL, to Palo Alto CA, to Naperville IL, and eventually Appleton, WI where they raised their children. In 2001, Mike and Norah moved to Monroe, WI, their adopted hometown, where Norah left an indelible mark on the community through the numerous charitable organizations she supported. She gave wholeheartedly and was never afraid to ask for a donation. She considered her children and grandchildren as recruits for her causes and consequently taught them all about the importance of giving back to the community. Norah was a lifelong Democrat who cared deeply about women’s rights. She dedicated many hours and resources to support Democratic candidates in Wisconsin. Norah would always say her proudest achievement was her family. She was devoted to her large extended family and would drop everything at a moment’s notice to be there for anyone in need. She had an incalculable influence on each of her grandchildren and thought they were all absolutely perfect. Norah and Mike had many adventures camping, seeing live music, visiting friends and family around the country, and traveling the world. They were looking forward to celebrating their 50th anniversary on March 3rd. Norah was an avid gardener, skilled hostess, phenomenal cook, and the best grandma anyone could ask for. She brought beauty, laughter, and love to all who were lucky enough to know her.
Norah is survived by her husband Mike and their four children. These include son Michael of Shawano WI and his two sons, Ian and Tristan of Appleton, WI; daughter Sarah Endicott, husband Kris Endicott, daughters Lola, June, and Darcy of New Glarus, WI; son Jacob Sanders and wife Sughey Alejandra Espinoza Martinez of Oaxaca, Mexico; daughter Anna Finkelstein, husband Daniel Finkelstein, son Solomon of Monticello, WI.
