Nicole, age 39, of Monroe, died on Friday, February 21, 2025. Nicole was born on June 15th, 1985, in Monroe, the daughter of Chad and Debra (Trickel) Niday, and Daniel and Shelly (Herth) Crook. Nicole was a 2003 high school graduate and earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Services Leadership from UW Oshkosh. Unfortunately, Nicole was in a car accident in 2010, which left her a quadriplegic. Her main goal after the accident was to walk again, but there were too many obstacles that got in the way. A special thank you to her sister Ashley Grinnell and cousin Ashley Carpenter for taking great care of her after the accident.
The first thing Nicole learned to do after the accident was to apply her own make-up. If you were friends with her on FB, you know she was always “made up”. Nicole had a heart of gold and was beautiful inside and out.
Nicole will be greatly missed by her daughter, Payton Ethridge of Monroe; a very special grandmother, Norma Trickel of Monroe; parents Debra (Chad) Niday of Oregon and Daniel (Shelly) Crook of Michigan; brother Seth Niday; sister, Bailey Flesher and her kids Brayson & Berkley; sister Ashley (Erik) Grinnell, and their kids, Presley, Kailey, and Bradley; grandfather, Robert Crook; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and longtime friends. Nicole will also be greatly missed by her three dogs: Minnie, Bruiser, and Jordy. She loved those dogs, and they would never leave her side. Nicole was preceded in death by a special grandfather, William Trickel; along with grandfather, Ardell Jackson, and grandmother, Judith Jackson.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm, at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established for Nicole’s daughter, Payton, who will be attending nursing school in the fall. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
