Nicholas John Teehan
Nicholas John Teehan

Nicholas John Teehan, 66, Hayward, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Tamarack Health Hayward Medical Center.

Nick was born on January 19, 1960 in Monroe, WI to Phillip J. Teehan and Sybil U. (Blumer) Teehan. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1978.  Nick learned home building skills while still in high school and was eventually hired by Norwood Custom Homes in Madison WI. He was named Vice President of Construction and an owner of the company in 2001. He once estimated that during his time with Norwood he assisted in the building of over 800 beautiful homes in and around Madison. In 2015, Nick decided to leave city life and settle on family property in the Hayward area. He became employed at Nelson Lumber in Hayward, working in sales where he coordinated materials for area contractors. Nick met Pamela Tomkowiak, fell in love, and they married on July 23, 2022.

Nick was a drummer and played in several successful rock and country rock bands in the southern Wisconsin area in the 1970’s and 1980’s. He enjoyed hunting, exercising, walking through the woods and spending time with family. But his true passion was building and fixing things. HIs grandfather, Harold Blumer, instilled a work ethic in Nick that drove him every day. He was always busy with projects on his property and that of other family members and friends. They were his work crew and he was the very strict foreman.

He is survived by his wife Pam; mother Sybil Teehan of Monroe WI; siblings Tony Teehan of St. Paul MN, Joe Teehan of Bellingham WA, and Elizabeth Nicoly of Madison WI; step-children Chelsea Vizor and Cody Tomkowiak; step-grandchildren Freedom, Mason, Freya, and Finn; nephew Tommy Teehan; nieces Ella Teehan, Blair Nicoly, and Kiernan Steiner.  He was preceded in death by his father Phillip Teehan and aunt Susan Blumer.

Celebrations of Nick’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday Feb. 20 at Bratley-Nelson Funeral Home in Hayward WI, and on Sunday Feb. 22 (1 p.m. visitation/2 p.m. service) at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe WI.
