Nedra Ann Kohl Bregenzer, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. She was born in Cook County, IL, on June 4, 1929, to Merritt B. and Ruth (Pandow) Hilliard. Nedra graduated from Monroe High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to Duane E. Kohl on February 8, 1948. Nedra graduated from Green County Teacher’s College in 1964 and from UW-Platteville in 1978. She was a life member and past president of Zilmer-Riley American Legion Auxiliary #84, a life member of the VFW Auxiliary #2312, a member of Women of the Moose #599, and a former member of 40/8 Cabane-Wisconsin.

Nedra was employed by J. B. Heeren & Son Insurance for four years as secretary/bookkeeper and by the Sears-Roebuck Catalog Office as credit manager for five years. She worked with her husband, Duane, in his grocery and meat business for nine and one-half years. Later, she worked for Archie Myers as secretary/bookkeeper at the Swiss Cheese Shop for 21 years. She retired as site manager of Monroe Senior Dining Center in December of 2000 after eight years. She was united in marriage to Karl E. Bregenzer in 2005. While living in Florida, she was a member of the Elks Auxiliary of Merritt Island, Florida, and a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Auxiliary at Cape Canaveral, FL.

Nedra was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, George Voelkli; half-sister, Marianne Voelkli, as an infant; brother, K. R. Hilliard; and special Great-Aunt, Kittie Pillmore, who raised her from age 13 months until age 12; her first husband, Duane, in 1989; and second husband, Karl, in 2009.

Surviving are son, Jeffrey D. Kohl and his wife Joanne; grandson, Michael D. Kohl; and granddaughter, Laura M. Kohl all of Monroe, WI; grandson, Matthew J. Kohl , and his wife Jessica, and great-granddaughter, Josephine Jane Kohl of Orlando, FL. Nedra is further survived by two step-daughters, one step-son, sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, many first cousins, and second cousins, nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.

Per Nedra’s wishes, there will be no services or visitation. Cremains will be interred with her first husband in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Any memorials can be made to the charity of your choice. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
