Nancy Joy Krieger, age 92, of Monroe, passed away at her home, Saturday, August 10, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Nancy was born June 16, 1932 in Chicago IL, the daughter of Al and Rose Baier. She was the second of four daughters.  Nancy graduated from St. Patrick Academy, Des Plaines, IL in 1950.  Nancy married James (Jim) L. Krieger on September 25, 1954.  They started their life together in St. Joseph, MI and moved to Monroe, WI in 1961 to run Windy Acres Golf Course. 

Nancy is survived by Jim, her devoted husband of nearly 70 years; the nine children they raised together, Mary Kay (Michael) Jaliman, Brewster, NY, Kathy (Jim) Gagnon, Comptche, CA, Jim (Tammy) Krieger, Monroe, Pat (Patty) Krieger, Shorewood, WI, Carolyn (Craig) Carter, Argyle, WI, Mike (Joy) Krieger Two Rivers, WI, David (Beverly) Krieger, St. Joseph, MI, Therese Krieger (Ron) Monroe, and Thomas Krieger, Monroe;  16 grandchildren: David, Sophia, Arete, Katie, Ally, Katrina, David, Emily, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Eric, Gottlieb, Mina, Ari, Oliver, and Vivien; 4 great grandchildren: Luke, Torey, Charlotte, and Lieb;  and her sisters Carolyn Rogers and Midge Sheehan.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; her sister Pat Eiserman; and her brother-in-laws, John Eiserman, Dave Rogers and Pierce Sheehan.

Nancy and Jim have been active members of St Victor’s Catholic Church for over 60 years. Nancy taught religious education and was part of the quilting group. She volunteered for Friends Helping Families, and regularly visited people in the community who needed some company, encouragement or support. Nancy wore many hats at Windy Acres. She did the books and payroll, hired, trained and managed all the indoor staff, and cooked and waitressed. Nancy considered all her Windy Acres staff and customers to be a part of her extended family. She welcomed people to her home, the business and her heart. She will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 11:00 A.M., at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Father Chahm Gahng officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be in St. Victor’s gathering space preceding the mass beginning at 9:00 A.M. A memorial fund will be established in Nancy’s name.
