Michael Paul, “Mike” Brukwicki, age 76, of Monroe, WI  passed away Monday, March 13, 2023.  He was born in Milwaukee, WI on November 6, 1946.  Mike was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Milwaukee, WI in 1964, received his B.S. in mathematics and physics from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL in 1968, and received a Master’s in School Counseling and a Master’s in Education Administration from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. Mike began his teaching career at Joliet Catholic High School teaching math and physics.   He continued as a teacher and guidance counselor at LaSalle-Peru High School and completed his career as Assistant Principal of Monroe High School for 25 years (1983-2008).  Mike was a life-long member of the Catholic church, and an active member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Monroe, WI.  Mike enjoyed coaching little league baseball and serving as a basketball referee.  He was an avid supporter of sports – he loved watching his children and grandchildren and was a devoted Cubs fan.  Mike’s hobbies were many, including woodworking, creating stained-glass pieces, camping, traveling domestically and internationally, and collecting interesting gadgets on his adventures. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Christine Brukwicki, his in-laws Thomas and Clara McGann, three brothers-in-law, and cherished, eldest son Michael Paul Brukwicki, Jr.  He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 54 years (June 1, 1968), Elaine (McGann); his beloved children, Gail (John) Vanderhoef of Waunakee, Matthew (Michelle) Brukwicki of Monroe, Joan Brukwicki of Madison, Martin (Amber) Brukwicki of Lake Geneva; and four adored grandchildren, Kate Vanderhoef, Anna Vanderhoef, Henry Brukwicki, George Brukwicki; brother, Floyd Brukwicki, of Florida; sisters-in-law Marsha (Steve) Driggers of Charleston S.C, Mary Michaels of Marseilles, IL, Carol McGann of Joliet, IL, Jane (Hal) Choisser of Channahon IL, and various nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will hold visitation from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, 1760 14th Street, Monroe, WI 53566. Funeral services will be held at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 20, 2023 with Father Tafadzwa Kushamba officiating.  Burial in Calvary Cemetery. 

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Agrace Hospice. Donations or memorials can be made in Mike’s name to the Youth Ministry at St. Clare of Assisi Parish.
