Michael “Mike” John Meier, 53, of Monroe, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, with his loving wife by his side, after a long illness with cancer.
He was born on January 25, 1972, in Monroe to John and Ursula Meier. Mike graduated from Juda High School in 1990 and later attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s agricultural short course program. After graduation, he farmed alongside his parents before beginning a long career at Monroe Truck Equipment, where he worked as a truck equipment mechanic for over 20 years.
In September 1998, Mike married the love of his life, Brandi. Together they raised one son, Trevor, whom Mike was incredibly proud of. He passed down to Trevor the strong work ethic and values that defined his own life.
Mike was a man of few words but also a man who’s words meant a lot if you were fortunate to hear them. He had quick wit and dry, unexpected sense of humor. He and Brandi enjoyed doing most things together from UTV riding to Sunday Fundays to binge watching Netflix. You rarely saw one without the other. Mike also had his lifelong best friend, Steve Wirth, who shared in countless adventures, projects, and memories over the years.
Tractor pulling was Mike’s lifelong passion. A proud member of Badger State Tractor Pullers since 2005, and also a member of Tri State Truck and Tractor Pullers, Mike built two custom pulling tractors: 466 XX Press (International 1466) and Double Trouble (International 5488). He was a talented and detail-oriented craftsman, known for his precision and care in every part of the build. Mike was a true competitor in the sport, and his years of experience gave him an expert’s understanding of everything from weight placement and gear choice to reading the track. He also built custom aluminum International fenders, which he sold to pullers across the country. Through pulling, Mike and Brandi formed lasting friendships and found a second family in the pulling community.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Brandi; son, Trevor and his girlfriend Amber; mother, Ursula Meier; brothers, Dan (Kathi) Meier and John Jr. (Amy) Meier; nephews, Cole, Lane, and Jack; and niece Layla. He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Betty Siedschlag; sisters-in-law, Kerri Nachreiner (Mark), Jaimi Noriega (Roy), and Wendi Wipperfurth; and brother-in-law, Ed Siedschlag.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Meier.
Mike’s life was one of quiet strength, loyalty, and deep connection — to his family, his friends, and the things he loved. He will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the Green County Fairgrounds, Barn 7 from 2-6PM.
