Michael H. Johnson, age 78 of Monroe, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 2, 2020. Mike was born on June 29, 1941 in Monroe, the son of Herbert and Edna (Goecks) Johnson. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1958 and attended Madison Business College. He married Ann Siple in 1962 in Arlington, Virginia. Mike began his career at Monroe’s First National Bank as a teller and retired as an officer after several years of employment. He was a member of the N.R.A. and in his younger years was active in the Jaycees. Mike enjoyed repairing antique clocks, tending to his woods in Adams Township, and taking trips with Ann to Wyoming and other western states.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Ann Johnson of Monroe; a brother, William (Bonnie) Johnson of Lincoln, Nebraska; and three cousins, Terry Gulesserian, Paul Gempler, and Alan Stauffacher. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Richard M. Johnson.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Memorials are suggested in Mike’s name to the American Heart Association. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
