Michael D. Hartwig, age 48, of Monroe passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. He was born December 19, 1972 in Philadelphia, the son of Richard Hartwig JR. and Christine Gilbertson. Michael graduated Albany High School in 1991 and later graduated ITT Technical College. He worked as a delivery driver for PGW in Madison. He married Dawn Nikolaisen on July 1, 2006 in Albany WI. Michael enjoyed bowling and being a part of the ATV Cheese County Trail Club. His biggest joy was his grandchildren and family.

He is survived by his father, Richard Hartwig of Monroe; mother Christine Hartwig of Albany; children Shiane Hartwig of Monroe, Rebecca Hartwig of Monroe; grandchildren Braelyn and Maisyn; brother James (Brenda) Hartwig of Albany; sister Jennifer (Rafael) Herrera of Monroe.

He was predeceased by his brother Eric.

There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 12 pm until 4 pm at the Moose Club in Monroe.
