Mark R. Austin, age 61 of Monroe, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at U.W. Hospital, Madison. He was born on January 13, 1959, the son of Alden and Jeanette (Stello) Austin in Monroe. He was a 1978 graduate of Monroe High School. Mark was united in marriage to Jill Jordan on September 10, 1983 in Juda.

He was a machinist at Industrial Combustion for 10 years, he also worked as a tool and die maker at Orchid, formerly known as Advance Transformer, for 20 years. Mark loved the outdoors; he was a member of Pheasants Forever. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and taking care of his hobby farm and wildlife food plots. He always looked forward to his annual fishing / hunting trips to Canada, which started with his father-in-law and brothers-in-law, and had carried on the tradition with his son. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and beloved grandchildren. He enjoyed collecting antique farm equipment and giving rides to his grandchildren. Mark was a grill-master, he loved cooking on the grill year-round.

He is survived by his wife, Jill of Monroe; children, McKenzie (Jake) Crase of Cuba City and Mitchell ( Kelsi Ruchti ) Austin of Monroe; mother-in-law, Pat Jordan of Juda; grandchildren, Carson, Jerdan, Kamryn, and Catelyn; brother, Phil (Mary) Austin of Monroe; and sisters, Janet Czerwonka of Madison, Joyce Jennings of Madison, and Julie (Paul Bunnell) Humphrey of Monroe. Mark and his family will forever be thankful to Mark’s sister Julie, who gave her kidney so that Mark could enjoy another 15 years of life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Jerry Jordan.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Monroe Bible Church with Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will follow service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Argyle.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 14, 2020 from 4-7 PM at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home.
