Marie Amelia (Schultz) Husmann, aged 94 years, died at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe WI.  She was born on October 26, 1927 in Pesotum IL to Christian and Elizabeth Schultz.

Marie was born and grew up on her family's farm in central IL.  Marie attended Illinois State University where she met and married her husband John prior to their senior year in 1948.  In 1949 they were the first married couple to graduate together from ISU. They were married for over 70 years when John died in 2019. Marie taught physical education in Crystal Lake IL, District 155 before staying home to raise a family.  She later taught in Barrington Hills and Carpentersville while earning her master's degree from NIU and finished her career teaching reading at Crystal Lake Central High School.  Marie loved her family, teaching, and all animals except chickens.

Marie is survived by her children, Christie Wrenn, Harry Husmann, and Leslie Nider; seven grandchildren, Eliot (Anne) Wrenn, Mac (Amanda Silha) Wrenn, Kathy Servin, Emily Egan, John (Rachelle Zang) Husmann, Marie Nider, and Julia (Johannes) Schmied; ten great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Muhs, and many nieces and nephews.
