Marian L. Heimann, age 94, of Monroe, formerly of Monticello, died Thursday, August 8, 2024 at SSM Monroe Hospice Home. Marian was born on April 6, 1930 in Monroe, the daughter of Carl and Elda (Wyss) Wald. She attended Bethel Rural School and graduated from Monroe High School in 1948. Marian was united in marriage to Loris J. Heimann on January 8, 1950 at St. John’s United Church of Christ. The couple farmed in Exeter Township, rural Monticello, most of their married life. Marian enjoyed quilting, golfing at Edelweiss Country Club, bowling at Swiss Lanes, and polka dancing with Loris. She had lived in Monroe since 2006.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Heimann (Ruth) of Monticello, Loren Heimann (Mary) of Monroe; four grandchildren, Jenny (Lance) Altmann, Justin Heimann, Jill Heimann, and James (Sheila) Heimann. She is further survived by ten great grandchildren; her sister, Jeannette Boop of Hanover, IL; daughter-in-law, Joannie Heimann of Oklahoma; and former daughter-in-law, Gail Dawson of Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loris, on March 12, 2002; son, Russell; grandson, Jason; sister, Carole Zimmerman; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Heimann.
Private services will be held at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Monticello, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
