Lonnie E. Van Dusen

Lonnie E. Van Dusen, age 60, of Browntown passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on December 27, 1964 to Carl and Wanda (Baker) Van Dusen, Jr. He grew up in southern Wisconsin, attending numerous schools. He was a 1983 graduate of Argyle High School.

Following graduation Lonnie joined the US Navy. He served onboard the USS Dale CG-19 and USS John F. Kennedy CV-67. He proudly served during the Libya Conflict, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. In 1992 he began driving semi, eventually driving for Walmart. On July 17, 2004 Lonnie married Jo Dunlavy in Monroe.  Lonnie was a lifetime VFW member in Monroe and served on the Albany Fire Department and EMS.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, and telling stories. 

Lonnie is survived by his wife, Jo of Browntown; children, Tyler (Karlyn) Van Dusen of Belleville, Tiffany (Ryan) Moore of Brodhead, A.J. (Alyssa) Meligan of Monroe, Ben (Savannah) Meligan of Mineral Point, and Brandon Schofield of Spring Hill, FL; grandchildren, Simon, Malcolm, Lili, Violet, Ryerson, Calvin, Everly, Julia, Leyton, Sawyer, and one on the way; father, Carl (Marian) Van Dusen Jr.; siblings, Laurie (Louis) Martin, LeRoy (Tracey) Baker, Lenny (Terry) Tollakson, Kurt (Theresa) Tollakson, Steve (Mary) Tollakson, and Todd (Jennifer) Tollakson; and sister-in-law, Denise Klassy.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Larry Van Dusen; and mother and father-in-law, John (Mary) Dunlavy Sr.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor Francois Mukosa officiating. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shgfuneralhome.net.
