Lawrence Jacob “Barch” Baertschi passed away December 20, 2020 at Jordan Creek Care Center in Springfield, Missouri.

Lawrence was born January 14, 1948 to Louis and Hilda (Zimmerman) Baertschi, at St. Clare Hospital in Monroe, WI.

He attended country schools in Belleville and Monroe and Monroe High School in Wisconsin.

He joined the Navy in 1966 and served in Viet Nam. He was awarded several medals and a purple heart. After his service to his country, he worked a variety of jobs while living in Wisconsin, Wyoming, and Missouri. His most recent employment was at Buckhorn Plastic Fabrication Company in Springfield MO. He retired in 2013.

He always had an opinion on all subjects and was happy to debate with anyone.

Barch enjoyed the fellowship at St. Johns United Church of Christ.

He is survived by two brothers: Leon (Sue) Baertschi, Springfield MO, Kelvin (Sandy) Baertschi, Monroe, WI; sister-in-law Gloria Baertschi, Monroe, WI and several nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and HIlda in 1999, sister LouAnn 1994, and brother Keith 2013.

A memorial service will occur at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
