Lavern “Bernie” Flannery, age 83 of Argyle, WI died April 13, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 4, 1939, at home in Jordan Township in Green County, Wi the son of Wilbur Flannery Sr. and Marian (Easler) Berg. He attended Monroe High School. Bernie married JoAnn Quinn on June 11, 1960.
Bernie was an avid farmer his whole life, with a love for his International Tractors and the Oakland Raiders. He retired from the farm in 1995. He then began to work at Klondike Cheese before retiring at the age of 70.
He enjoyed being outdoors, spending time with family, and quality long drives with his wife.
Bernie is survived by his wife of 62 years, JoAnn, at home, three children: Donna (Eric Berget) Flannery of South Wayne, WI, Deanna (David) Briggs of Rock City, IL, and Daryl (Cheryl) Flannery of Lancaster, WI; his grandchildren: Talia (Jason Liphart) Rothenbuehler, Michael Rothenbuehler, Boston Flannery, and AJ, Maddie, and Preston Jackson; his great-grandchildren: Bailey, Bralyn, Tate, Jakobie, Taegan, Taylen, Cameron, and Gaige; and his faithful companion, his dog, Bentley. He was preceded in death by his father: Wilbur Sr.; his mother: Marian; step-father: Virgil L. Berg; one brother: Wilbur Flannery, Jr.; and two sisters: Betty Neuenschwander and Leona Weisenberg.
