Larry Van Dusen, age 53, of Monticello passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at his home. He was born on January 18, 1972 the son of Carl and Wanda (Baker) Van Dusen, Jr.. He graduated from Argyle High School in 1990. He met the love of his life, Denise (Grossen) Klassy in September of 2012; over the past nearly 13 years they have made many wonderful memories together with their families.
Larry worked as a Licensed Cheesemaker for 12 years at Klondike Cheese and later worked for Emmi Roth Cheese Factory in Monroe. He also worked for New Glarus Brewing Company and then went on to work at Federal Industries in Belleville as a welder. Due to the progression of his ALS Larry had to retire early.
Larry loved hunting, fishing, and ranger rides with the Pec-Valley ATV Club of Monticello and Argyle. He was also an avid Green Bay Packer and Brewer fan. The true highlight of his life was spending time with his family and supporting his community and family members in local sporting events.
Larry is survived by his fiancé, Denise (Grossen) Klassy; father, Carl (Marian) Van Dusen, Jr.; children; Jacqueline Van Dusen, Jessica (Devon Jacobson) Van Dusen, Jake (Halle Moore) Van Dusen, Mason (Sierra) Klassy, and Tristan Klassy; siblings, Lonnie (Jo) Van Dusen, Laurie (Louis) Martin, LeRoy (Tracey) Baker; step-brothers, Lenny (Terry) Tollakson, Kurt (Theresa) Tollakson, Steve (Mary) Tollakson, and Todd (Jennifer) Tollakson; parents-in-law, Jim and Debbie Grossen; sister-in-law, Tammy Moujahid; brother-in-law, Jeff (Marion Fredrickson) Grossen; and several nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and brother-in-law, Jason Grossen.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at the Cork Down Saloon in Blanchardville on Saturday, March 15, 2025 starting at 2:00 PM. Please feel free to bring a dish to pass and a story to share.
