Larry L. Priewe, age 81, of Monroe passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020 at his home. He was born the son of Stanley and Evelyn (Keister) Priewe on April 1, 1939 in Monroe. He was a 1958 graduate of Monroe High School.
Larry was united in marriage to Sharon Ann Kubly on September 28, 1958 in Monroe, she preceded him in death on January 14, 2006.
Larry worked as an Autobody Mechanic for Metal Specialties for 35 years in Freeport, IL.
He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Green County ATV Club, Duck’s Unlimited, Green County Handgunners, NWTF, NRA, and Monroe Moose Lodge #754. He also was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and woodworker. Through the years he was a talented marksman winning numerous state awards. Larry enjoyed playing cards whenever he had the chance.
Larry is survived by his son, Toney (Sheri) Priewe of Monroe; grandchildren: Neil (Maureen) Priewe, Cris (Amber) Priewe, Lily and Eva Priewe; great-grandchildren, Zeke and Zoey Priewe; siblings, Lois (Gene) Upward, Janet (Don Olson) Priewe and Carol (Glen) Balbach; brother-in-law, Robert Brunkow; sister-in-law, Mary Jo (Randy) Roderick; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; sister, Ruth Ann Brunkow and brother, Paul Priewe.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Christie Mandas officiating. Social distancing will be required.
A memorial fund is being established in Larry’s name.
