Junior R. Hanson, age 97, of Monroe, died on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at The Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born September 20, 1923 in Wiota Township; the son of Roy and Ethel (Ableman) Hanson. Junior and Luella Berg were united in marriage on June 7, 1943 in Browntown; she preceded him in death in 2018.
Junior farmed with his wife for 40 years then worked for Rufer Refrigeration and Baus Refrigeration for 20 years. He enjoyed helping his family and friends with anything he could.
He is survived by daughters, Judy Hanson and Karen (Mike) Moellenberndt both of Monroe; grandchildren, Kelly (Mike Trumble) Hendrickson of Browntown and Todd (Angie Arians) Pulver of Monroe; great-granddaughters; Jessika Pulver and Sabrina Lisser; great-great-grandchildren, Aniya and Attlas; step-grandchildren, Brad (April) Moellenberndt of Evansville and Patti (Tony) Wilhite of Monroe, step great-grandchildren, Brady, Alec and Kade.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Betty Sulzer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday July 28, 2021 at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Todd Hackman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood cemetery.
