June E. Blumer, age 94 of Albany, died Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. She was born on March 25, 1928 at home in Attica, the daughter of William and Alta (Crosgrove) Qualley. She graduated from Albany High School in 1946. June married Kenneth J. Blumer on October 25, 1946 in Albany. She worked with her twin sister, Jean, at Oaktron for many years, and later worked at Dormans Cheese. She was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello, she enjoyed doing ceramics, yard work and her flower gardens, cooking, baking, and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Larry Blumer and Julene (Scott) Elmer, both of Albany; grandchildren: James (Michelle) Blumer of Milton, Sharyl (Ralph) Reinheimer of Eden Prairie, MN, Kari (Jeff) Stockton of Rockton, IL, Kevin (Jennifer) Blumer of Milton, Andrew (Emalee Fry) Elmer of Albany, Michael (Kayla) Elmer of Albany; 7 great-grandchildren: Kassi, Dillan, Morgan, Lauren, Jaren, Evren and Liam; God-daughter, Rhonda Elmer; and many very special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Lowell and Russell; sisters: Jean Elmer-her twin, Ruth Malkow, Vera Zimmerman, Verna Zimmerman, Daphne Minder, and Dorothy Derendinger; and her God-daughter, her niece, Linda Mertes.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday September 29, 2022 at Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello, with Reverend Lance Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest cemetery, Albany. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 pm at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home.
