Judith “Judy” Ann Hanson
Judith “Judy” Ann Hanson

Judith “Judy” Ann Hanson, 82, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at SSM Hospital in Monroe, Wisconsin. In a full-circle moment, Judy both entered and left this world on the same date as her mother. Her mother often said Judy was her greatest birthday gift, as they shared the same birth date; August 17th.  Judy was born the daughter of Junior and Luella (Berg) Hanson.  She attended 8 years of grade school at the Green County Teachers College Demonstration Room and then graduating from Monroe High School in 1961.

She worked as a secretary at the University Extension Office for many years then retiring from the Natural Resources Conservation Service as the Office Automation Clerk. Judy was a long time member of St. John’s UCC.

She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed hand and machine embroidery and counted cross stitch.   In her later years, she sold her beautiful handy work at craft shows with her sister, Karen Moellenberndt.  Judy sold a unique specialty item “Embroidered Toilet Paper.” This was done on her computerized embroidery sewing machine.  This item raised many eyebrows and much laughter.

She is survived by her sister, Karen (Mike) Moellenberndt of Monroe, WI; also, niece, Kelly Hendrickson of Browntown, WI, and nephew, Todd (Angie) Pulver of Monroe, WI; 2 great-nieces, 1 great-great-niece, 2 great-great-nephews; cousins; and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; aunts and uncles, great aunts, and uncles, and two cousins.

She was the best sister, aunt, great-aunt, and cousin a family could have. The family would like to thank Ann’s Helping Hands Home caregivers as well as the SSM Hospice Health caregivers for their loving care.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Reverend Todd Hackman officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shgfuneralhome.net.
