Joseph T. “Jay” Cyrnek, age 64, of Monroe, died Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe, Wisconsin where he had resided for the last 40 years after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle accident. Jay was born on October 17, 1958 in Chicago, IL, the son of Joseph F. and Esther R. (Zonta) Cyrnek. He was a 1976 graduate of Bowen High School in Chicago and had worked as a Hydraulic Mechanic for Morgan Corporation in Janesville.

He is survived by two sisters, Frances (Tom) Brombosz of Hammond, IN, Rita (Joe) Ramirez Jr. of Wichita, KS; a nephew, Joe (Krista) Ramirez III; a niece, Krystle (Jarod) Pauly, all of Wichita; and great nieces and nephews, Brayden Brown, Meya Ramirez, Adisyn Ramirez, MaKenzie King, Anthony Pauly, and Jeremiah Pauly. He was preceded in death by his parents; great niece, Sophia Pauly; great nephew, Owen Pauly; and baby Taylor Pauly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Father Tafadzwa Kushamba, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday, January 28, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Jay’s name to Friends of Pleasant View. The NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, is assisting the family.
